5 Pet Peeves

Just laughing at the asshats of the world.
(Yep... that's a cheese-hat on my head.)
Sometimes, we just need to vent... about everything -- and nothing.
Today feels like a damn-good day to me.

So... here goes... a short list of 5 pet peeves (just a few thoughts we all have, at times):

1) Entitlement

I can't stand entitlement. You know... those ridiculous people who act as if you owe them something.

Actually... they act as if the world owes them something.

It's funny... these always seem to be the very people who do nothing for others.

From a personal standpoint, they've never done anything to help me. Yet, somehow, I owe them all of my help, my time, and my energy.

Do what now??

In reality, I owe them nothing. You owe them nothing. The world owes them nothing.

Of course, the "entitled" disagree.
They're "special."

Sure... it's okay to need help. We all need help.
It's okay to ask for help. We could all use a helping hand.

But expecting help... not so much.
Demanding help... um, no.
Getting pissed when help isn't provided... come on, man...

Ask and you shall receive.
Demand... and you'll get exactly what you contribute to the world: Nothing.

2) Disrespect

Blatant disrespect is just rude and unnecessary. We should all try to treat others with a basic level of respect. It's not always easy, but it's the right thing to do.
It's just common courtesy.

You won't like everyone you meet, and that's okay.
When it comes to certain people, you may struggle to be nice, and that's fine, too.
You may even avoid the biggest jerks, and that's probably for the best.

Just don't be an asshole... especially for no good reason... especially to people you don't even freaking know.

Maybe you think that you're better than others. Well... you aren't.
Rude isn't cute.
Jerks aren't cool.
Status ain't everything, boo.

No matter who you are... you're human... just like the rest of us.
Act like it.

(PS- If someone is blatantly disrespectful to you --on multiple occasions-- then all bets are off. Do your thing, girl.)

3) Slander

If you don't know someone on any personal level, then maybe... just maybe... you shouldn't bash them to others.

Because maybe... just maybe... what you "heard" about them... is not true.

So... you should either find out the truth for yourself, or maybe... just maybe... you should shut your damn mouth.

Then again, if you know someone --yet... you openly hate them-- well... that sounds like a personal problem to me.

Regardless, it's ridiculous and immature for you to make up lies about them... just to get others to hate them with you. This isn't 4th friggin grade.
And even back then... it wasn't that cool, dude.

Find something better to do. Or maybe... just maybe... go away.

4) Lying

Lying is for liars.
Stop it.

5) Greed

Greed is gross.

It's okay to be frugal and smart with your money. Most of us have to be that way, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's simply how we survive.

Frugal is one thing...
Greed takes it to another level.
A selfish level.
A ridiculous level.
An embarassing level.

Yep. That's right. I said it.
If you're greedy... then you should be downright-embarassed.
Because I'm embarassed for you...
We all are.

My 2 biggest issues with greedy-meanies are: denying payment, & denying help.

First-- it's just plain wrong to withhold payment from those you owe. If you promised to pay someone, then pay them. Don't haggle, don't argue, don't belittle. Just freaking pay them already.
Is your greed really worth more than your integrity? Your word? Your pride?

I mean... you love to flaunt your wealth, right? Well damn... then pay your f-ing bills.

Second-- if you have a little (or a lot) left over, it would be really amazing if you used those funds to help others. Seriously... if you could truly make a difference, by sharing just a little of what you have, wouldn't that feel incredible to you?

Oops. Nevermind. Probably not.
Silly me... I forgot...
You're a greedy bastard.

*I could go on forever with this, but I'll leave it there for today.
If you'd like to give just a little something to my amazing dogs, please click below to donate today. Even $5, $10, or $20 would be life-changing for my babies.
And in advance... thanks for not being greedy bastards :) Love y'all! -Ash

  1. thanx for doing my ranting for me! and bless your dogs. and my dogs too! snoopy & monet on earth...and prancer in heaven.

  2. You seem angry?

  3. Haha I'm not angry at all. I was simply voicing the thoughts we all have at one time or another. There's nothing wrong with that :)

  4. If everyone with extra money helped those who really need it. Our world would be so much better off!!

  5. Thank you for an honest and universal summary of pet peeves. I dislike mean, greedy, disrespectful and slanderous liars too. Everyone does except the mean, greedy, disrespectful, slanderous liars. They angrily hate everyone else because they feel entitled.

    1. Haha, you are adorable! I agree! Thanks for not being one of them ;)

  6. Anonymous - Maybe no but it is gossip and gossip is a sin.

29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

    - Romans 29-32 (NIV)

    1. I genuinely wanted to know if this blog was a scam or not because I wanted to donate and had heard it was a scam. I will keep donating to the no-kill rescue I work with that takes the bully breeds instead.

    2. Anonymous,
Blogs are blogs. Anyone can write a blog.

Regardless, LDR is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization...
I thought I'd already explained this to you, after you sent me the numerous, very rude, very ugly private messages last week... where you called me a "scam," because you "heard" it from a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend... someone who has never met me or my dogs.

Anyway, it's wonderful that you give to a bully breed org. I'm proud of you for doing so.

Just don't boast words that you "heard" as "truth." It's irresponsible for any of us to do that, especially when it comes to good people, good causes, and deserving dogs.

I am not a "scam." I am a person, just like you.

    3. Also, you may remember my invitation for you to visit here anytime you like, just to see for yourself. I also requested that you look into the eyes of each of my precious, deserving dogs... before you say such things... that are so hurtful to their futures.

      The invitation still stands...

Most "scams" don't do that. Just saying :)

    4. Thank you for the invitation though.

    5. Shame on you for wasting everyone's time, including yours, with your ill-advised, ignorant post. Why not take Ashley up on her invitation?? Does it make you feel good to "hate" on her, for no other reason than something you "heard", from another obviously ignorant and non-informed person?

    6. Beechmomie - last post for me....but shame on you for ASSUMING I am hating on her, calling me non-informed, and ignorant. Trying to find out more information so I can donate is by no means any of the above.

God knows I luv ya. I have the utmost respect for what you do and dont do. You are my hero, just so you know.

  8. I couldn't agree more and your a Packers fan...and that is really cool!

  9. I love what you do and the person you are! I feel the same way about these issues. There is nothing that I wouldn't do for an animal or deserving human. I have donated my time in working with a variety of animals. Dogs and cats are my favorites! They are such loving creatures and deserve no harm come to them! They are hear to love us unconditionally! God Bless all of God's creatures, big and small!!!

  10. If I never stopped to say this before, I'll say it right now. I LOVE YOU! You freaking ROCK! And I'm very proud to say that this is one of the few places I love to make contributions. Keep up the great work! Love you and all of the furbabies you have been rescuing!

    1. Awww, I'm blushing! Chelle, I don't know you, but I love you, too! Thank you! Just made my day!!!!!!!!

  11. just want to let you know that i appreciate what you are doing. i myself did alot of rescue work oon my own before my health got so bad i cant physically do it anymore however i still have 9 dogs 3 cats and 2 turtles that were rescues. i am their forever home and they are my family. they all get along well. and when somethiung happens and i can help more i will. i can advocate everyday and will continue to do so until i am no longer able too due to my health. and know when somethiung happens to one of my fur babies i will adopt another from a shelter. i admire you for what you do. GOD BLESS YOU!

  12. Good for you for voicing your thoughts. Too many people spend more times talking about other people's lives instead of dealing with their own. I always say "Clean up your own backyard before you come over and shit in mine." Sending good thoughts from our family (2 and 4 legged alike) to yours!

    1. haha I love that quote! And thank you, Victoria! Good thoughts sent your way from us as well!

  13. I couldn't agree with you more. That entitlement...it blows my mind. Where do people get this idea that they are owed? Trust me I deal with it everyday, all day. I have lost my faith in people but every so often someone reminds me there is still hope. Thank you.

If potential donors want more assurance that Lucky Dog Rescue is legitimate, they can do as the IRS suggests:

How to check whether an organization can receive deductible charitable contributions.
You can ask any organization whether it is a qualified organization, and most will be able to tell you. Or go to IRS.gov and enter “Pub 78” in the search box. Click on “Search” and then on “Exempt Organizations Select Check” (www.irs.gov/charities). This new online tool will enable you to search for organizations eligible to receive deductible charitable contributions. You can also call the IRS to find out if an organization is qualified. Call 1-877-829-5500

Potential donors may also call me and I'll personally vouch for Lucky Dog Rescue. I made the trek from Florida to Mississippi to adopt Ali and found that Ashley and Lucky Dog Rescue are very genuine. I realize anyone can say that, so to alleviate that concern, call me at work: Sarasota County Government at 941-861-5000 and ask the operator to transfer your call to me.

  17. Amazing story! Many people can't tolerate good that goes on in the world. I've been there once and it is an amazing property! I respect you and the work that you do!! Keep it up!! Your rewards are and will be great!! Let the debbie downers wallow in their misery!

  18. To bad we don't have more people like ashley in this world. Ater reading the blog about your kids(dogs) you are really someone to look up to! May God Bless your sweet soul...keep doing what you love.

  19. Hey Ash, If your looking for a fundraiser try Fun Pasta Fundraising! You get 40% of what you sell!!! it's awesome!!! I just held the fundraiser for my rescue we made enough to pay some of a very very large vet bill!

  20. hey

  21. Thank you for the wonderful things you do! <3
